Pirate to red sparkle shoes....help!

Superman, policeman, princess, pilot, red sparkle shoes, pink skirt, pirate........ahh!! How do you organize your kid's dress up clothes? I've tried hanging them up but they didn't stay on the hangers. Right now we have them STUFFED in a basket and I wouldn't even want to play with them because it's such a mess. Do you have any suggestions on how to keep them a little more tidy?

I picked up an old trunk at a thrift store or auction (can't remember which). When it is closed, it is a lovely piece but it holds all kinds of adventures inside! (but our dress up clothes need some serious purging)

Do you have a corner of your basement or play room where you can nail up some kid friendly coat hooks that are reachable for the kids to get clothes from and hang back up? There is a play place we go to that has their dress up clothes on hooks like that. My 4 year old actually enjoys hanging them back up. You may have to sew some ribbon loops to the collar or tag area for easy hanging. You could alternate the hooks at different levels.

I concur with Lisa...I had a friend that had coat hooks and it was awesome! So easy and off the floor, and it displayed all the clothes so easily. I do love Amber's idea also. I love when you can put a lid on it. :)

Find an out of commission bookshelf- paint it white- add bead board w/ hooks on the inside- bonus if it has has doors or shelves on the bottom for shoe storage- add more hooks on one side & a full length dressing mirror on the other.
